From Slow Fashion to Creation │ Odd Existence Welcomes a Partner and Expands Its Vision

Hello, Dear Community <3

As you can see, Odd Lemon is now officially Odd Existence — but what does that really mean? What’s behind this change, and what’s included in this exciting evolution? We’re here to share all the juicy details with you ;-) And as the cherry on top, we’re serving up a lil' extra fun with a Q&A with the Odd Existence partners at the bottom of this post.

First and foremost, Odd Existence is a natural progression of everything we’ve built so far in the history of Odd. The name change represents not just a shift in branding but an expansion of our vision. We're still committed to slow fashion, but we’re now also a creative office, offering more than just beautiful, thoughtful clothing. We’re opening up our world to include creative services, workshops, and collaborations to bring bold, fresh ideas into the mix. So, the things we've always done for ourselves can now be shared with others. We love this kind of transparency — helping each other and sharing the goods.

But the biggest news is that we’re welcoming a partner to join us on this journey! With this exciting and natural addition, we’re ready to take Odd Existence to new heights. Our new partner is none other than Laura Takahashi — the right hand of Mathilde Prins, founder, for almost four years. As a partner, Laura brings a wealth of expertise and passion that perfectly complements our vision. And as a bonus, she adds an extra level of slow to our slow fashion collection with her expertise as a crochet designer — a field we’re developing as a key part of our creative vision. Together, we’re blending the art of slow fashion with the energy of creative innovation.

So, what does this partnership bring to the table? The vision remains the same: creating thoughtful, high-quality fashion pieces. But now, we’ll also be offering services that help other brands and creatives grow and express themselves — from design direction to content creation and workshops that inspire creativity.

sustainability is fun. creativity is sexy. being different is cool. authenticity is magnetic. slowing down is the future.

We’re thrilled to embark on this new chapter with you and can’t wait to share the exciting things coming soon.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We couldn’t do it without you! <3

Q&A with the Odd Existence partners

What's in it for you, for me, for us?

Q: Mathilde, why did you bring Laura on as a partner?

Mathilde:
Simple. Laura is a creative powerhouse. She’s been by my side for years, and together we’ve built something strong. She brings a fresh spark to everything she touches, and I knew having her as a partner would take Odd Existence to the next level.

Q: Laura, what’s exciting about becoming a partner at Odd Existence?

Laura:
It’s all about making waves. I’ve been here for a long time now — four years, exactly — and now I get to shape the brand alongside Mathilde. We’re expanding into new creative spaces, and I’m all in! Butterflies in my belly and everything! More slow fashion, more creativity, more impact. So ready for this!

Q: Mathilde, what makes Laura’s partnership a game-changer?

Mathilde:
She’s got vision. Laura’s crochet expertise and her innovative ideas take our slow fashion to the next level. She’s all about the details and bold ideas, and that’s what makes our pieces stand out. Also, I couldn't do this without her. And wouldn’t want to.

Q: Laura, how do you feel about the direction we’re heading in?

Laura:
It’s fire. We’re blending slow fashion with creative services — and that’s something no one else is doing. It’s the future of fashion, and I’m thrilled to be part of it. Being a slow fashion brand can be tough because of the higher production costs, but we’ll never compromise on quality. Danish production is in our DNA, and that’s been the case from day one. Expanding our vision with creative services feels so natural for both of us, combining everything we’re passionate about and capable of offering.

Q: Mathilde, what’s next for Odd Existence with Laura as a partner?

Mathilde:
We’re taking it to the next level. It’s not just about the clothes anymore — we’re creating a creative brand that embodies responsible slow fashion, a vibrant community, and endless creativity. Odd Existence is becoming more than just a fashion brand —  it’s a lifestyle. As we expand our services, we’re building something that resonates with everyone who shares our values. I’m beyond excited for what’s ahead, and I can’t wait for all of you to join us on this incredible journey.

Q: Laura, where do you see Odd Existence in a few years?

Laura:
I see Odd Existence as a space where fashion and creativity merge in a way that’s both sustainable and impactful. Like Mathilde said, we're not just making clothes, we’re creating a brand that people can connect with, collaborate with, and feel proud to be a part of.

Q: Final thoughts?

Mathilde:
Thanks for being here with us. I’m beyond excited for what’s ahead and can guarantee this is just the start of something big. Also I can’t wait to do it all with Laura by my side <3 <3

Laura:
If you like what you've already seen, I just wanna say, that there’s a lot more to come. Our ideas are endless, and we’re just getting started. Stick with us <3 and let’s make it happen.
